Every year about this time we get the urge to spruce up the house. To open the windows, shake the dust out, and freshen up our space.
The girls share a room and have desperately wanted to stake out a little space or nook of their own. They had friday off from school (will there ever be a week when they go all 5 days?!) and so we set ourselves up with a little project. The deal was that they could pick out wall paint if they cleaned the room first, and man, was it a pit! This took all morning, and then finally, we went to the store, they picked out colors (one each) and we came home and painted. Have a look!
Tangerine paint. I swear I smelled oranges when I opened the can.
Holt used the roller and did most of the wall herself. Declan makes a good supervisor.
French Violet. What 7 year old gal doesn't love this shade?
Ryland's nook, all finished. The dog, sadly, is not ours. We're just babysitting her for 2 weeks, but we love her, and she loves Ryland's bed.
Here's Holt's side of the room. Sunny, isn't it?
Not bad for a days work, huh?! It’s amazing what a little color can do for one’s spirits.
And, here is my newest etsy purchase, also intended to liven up our plain jane hallway.
That yellowish color didn't translate well. It is really a bright white which contrasts nicely with the orange.
It came from a print shop in Portugal! It is, of course, a reproduction of the well known WWII poster. It is just the message we all need to see as we descend our stairs each morning. Maybe I should buy one of every color and post them everywhere! Here is how to find it in all colors of the rainbow: PrintSpot.etsy.com
Here is how it looks on our staircase:
A necessary motto.
2 rooms spruced up, a bunch to go…
